Who I am
Splenix is the one-man studio of a freelance developer based in Norway. I am the data controller for personal data processed through this website. You can reach me at hello@splenix.com.
What I collect, and why
Contact form. When you send me a message I receive the details you enter: your name, email address, optional project and budget selections, and your message. I use this information for one purpose only: to answer your enquiry and, if we end up working together, to prepare an offer. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries you initiate (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Server logs. Like almost every website, my web server keeps short-lived technical logs (IP address, requested page, browser type) for security and troubleshooting. Logs are rotated and deleted automatically.
Analytics, only with your consent. If you accept the cookie banner, this site loads Google Analytics 4 so I can see which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. This involves cookies set by Google and processing of your truncated IP address, device type and pages viewed. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics run at all. You can change your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer.
What I do not do
- No cookies or tracking without your explicit consent.
- No ads.
- I never sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.
How long I keep your data
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to me, at most 24 months, unless we enter into a contract. Data related to an actual engagement is kept as required by Norwegian bookkeeping law.
Where your data lives
This website is hosted on servers in the EU/EEA. Email is processed by my email provider under a data processing agreement. Contact form data does not leave the EU/EEA. If you consent to analytics, Google may process the resulting usage data outside the EU/EEA under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
Your rights under the GDPR
As a data subject in the EU/EEA you have the right to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you (Art. 15)
- Have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16)
- Have your data erased ("right to be forgotten", Art. 17)
- Restrict or object to my processing (Art. 18 and 21)
- Receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20)
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Norway this is Datatilsynet (datatilsynet.no)
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@splenix.com. I respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If I change how I process personal data, I will update this page and the date at the top.
